THE RACE ROOM WINTER RACE SERIES GENERAL COMPETITION RULE “GCR”

THE SERIES

The series has been designed to accommodate the requests of the many drivers who have been into The Race Room and raced on our simulators. Racers who have yet to purchase a simulator and who have no interest in a gaming quality experience. The series will provide intense, fair competition for all race drivers. The Race Room is committed to making your racing immersion as top shelf as possible. We will have race car sim technicians and modest driver coaching to offer any help our race drivers may request. Also provided will be the option to try different setups for each race car. They will be developed by Blair, Zac and Will. iRacing provides baseline setups as well. Drivers will be encouraged to ask questions and try different setups on each car to enhance the racing experience and develop a car that suits their driving style.

The series will run over 9 weeks and your best 6 races will count towards the Championship. You can race all 9, just 1 or 6 or whatever amount you wish. Only your best 6 races will count toward your championship total.

DRIVER REQUIREMENTS

All drivers participating in the series, in a simulator at The Race Room will be required to join iRacing. A 90 day membership to iRacing will be given, free of charge to all Race Room competitors. RACES

All sessions will be 2 hours in length and will consist of one (1), 60 minute practice session, one (1) 20 minute qualifying session and one (1) 40 minute race. Incidents in practice and race are not scored to disqualification. Race drivers also need to be aware that any incident in QUALIFYING will disallow that lap for qualifying time and for the race starting grid position. Drivers must complete clean incident free laps in qualifying for the lap time to be scored. An incident is a wheel off track, car contact, short cutting the track etc..

The Race Room will develop and share 2 optional setups for the race consideration of all drivers. These set ups will be developed and selected by Blair, Zac and Will of The Race Room. In addition, iRacing has for most race cars, BASELINE, LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH DOWNFORCE SETUPS also for the race driver’s consideration. It will be the competitor’s responsibility to choose the amount of fuel per practice, qualify and race session. Drivers are their own crew chief (not The Race Room). The Race Room will have sim technicians on hand to help you develop this.

All drivers will be encouraged to NOT disconnect from the RACE if having to reset for repairs. All simulators at The Race Room will have a “FAST REPAIR” button on the wheel. This button is located on the bottom right of the wheel button face plate and will be “YELLOW” in color.

SCORING

This is a 9 week racing series with 3 throw away races. A throw away race format is designed to serve 2 purposes; 1) to allow any driver who does all 9 races to score his / her best race finishes; and 2) to allow a driver to participate in the series when other interests may conflict with the race schedule,
A driver can practice any time they choose and as much as you want. You can practice in a private session or you can decide to use all 2 hours of practice in each race week race day session. It’s the drivers’ choice.

Points are awarded as follows;
NUMBER OF CARS ON STARTING GRID FINISHING POSITION
4 – 25 1ST / 25 PTS
4 – 25 2ND / 24 PTS
4 – 25 3RD / 23 PTS
4 – 25 4TH / 22 PTS
4 – 25 5th / 21 PTS

And so on down the finishing order. If only 21 cars start the race, a maximum of 25 points will be awarded for first place and so on, declining in point value down to last place.
In the event of a points tie at the conclusion of the race series, the winner will be decided based on the least amount of racing incidents over the entire series.
